Orientation for Students Participating in Chinese Camp in China


On 6 October 2016, Office of International Relations organized the orientation for students who will be participating in the Chinese Language and Culture Camp at Jinan University in Guangzhou, P.R. China, from 15-29 October 2016. Following to the first group of SPU students attended the camp last year, a total of 17 students are joining this year Camp – with 14 scholarship students from 10 Schools and 4 Colleges, and 3 students from Graduate School. The orientation aimed at providing the participants with as much as possible information about the Chinese camp including information of Guangzhou city, camp schedule, packing, and so on, for them to be ready for the exciting and interesting camp activities. The orientation program started with a very warm welcome speech by Vice President for International Affairs – Mrs. Chinda Tejavanija Chang, followed with the Introduction of Chinese Camp by Director of SPU-BLCC Chinese Language and Culture Center – Mr. Wei Qing. The activities during the orientation also included the Preparation for Guangzhou camp 2016 by Assistant to the Director of the Office of International Relations – Ms. Nattaporn Pienchob, sharing experience of the previous camp by student of the School of Business Administration – Mr. Baworanan Khanngoen, Chinese Language training by Mr. Yue Wang – Chinese Student Affairs Coordinator, SIC. It is also very important for the students to share the story about the camp activities and what they think about Chinese while they are in the China. Therefore, the orientation ended with a session of “How to write a Blog Post.” by Ms. Jitra Wannasorn – Head of Public Relations and Marketing Communication program, School of Communication Arts.
