ก่อนจะไปเจอเพื่อนใหม่ของเราที่บินลัดฟ้ามาเรียนที่ไทย จากประเทศแดนไกลอย่างภูฏาน เรามารู้จักเธอกันก่อน เพราะเคซีย์เป็นสาวน้อยคนหนึ่งที่ไม่ได้มีเพียงความน่ารัก แต่เธอยังเรียนเก่งมากจนได้รับทุนจากกษัตริย์แห่งราชอาณาจักรภูฏานอีกด้วย! แต่ทำไมเธอได้ตัดสินใจมาเลือกเรียนที่ ม.ศรีปทุม และเลือกเป็นเพื่อนที่น่ารักของเราชาวศรีปทุมกันนะ? เหตุผลไหนที่ทำให้ เคซีย์ ตัดสินใจแบบนั้น น้องๆ ที่กำลังมองหาที่เรียนคณะอินเตอร์สำหรับฝึกฝนภาษาให้เชี่ยวชาญ หรือเป็นเด็กต่างชาติที่กำลังสนใจมาเรียนที่ประเทศไทย ลองมาอ่านบทสัมภาษณ์ของเธอกันเลยจ้า
Before we get to meet our new friend, who came to Thailand from the far away land of Bhutan, let's get to know her first because Kasey is not just a cute girl but she is also very intelligent. She was offered an scholarship from the King of Bhutan! But why did she choose to study in Thailand and at SPU? What is her reason? Let’s get to know her more in this interview!
เคซีย์ : Kuzu zangpo la! สวัสดีเพื่อนๆ ทุกคน นี่คือคำทักทายจากสาวคนหนึ่งที่ชอบเดินทางท่องเที่ยวไปทั่วโลกใบนี้และชอบลองอะไรใหม่ๆ อยู่เสมอ เราขอแนะนำตัวเองสักหน่อยนะ เรามีชื่อว่า Kesang Wangmo อายุ 18 ปี เพื่อนๆ เรียกเราสั้นๆ ว่า Kasey หรือ เคซีย์ นั่นเองค่ะ หากถามว่าเรามาจากประเทศอะไร เราก็มาจากประเทศของมังกรฟ้าคำราม ที่ทุกคนเรียกว่าประเทศภูฏานนั่นเอง! ตอนนี้เคซีย์กำลังศึกษาอยู่ที่มหาลัยศรีปทุม ชั้นปีที่ 1 Sripatum International College สาขา Airline Business ที่เคซีย์เลือกคณะนี้เพราะรู้สึกสนใจการท่องเที่ยวและช่วยเหลือผู้อื่นไปด้วย ก่อนที่เคซีย์เองจะมาเรียนมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม เคซีย์เรียนอยู่ที่ Ugyen academy higher secondary school Bhutan ซึ่งเป็นโรงเรียนมัธยมเอกชนของประเทศภูฏานนั่นเอง
Kasey : Kuzu zangpo la everyone from the girl who loves to travel around the world and experience new environments! I would like to introduce myself; my name is Kesang Wangmo. I am 18 years old. My friends call me Kesey. I'm from the land of the Thunder Dragon, Bhutan. I am currently a first year student, studying at the International College Sripatum University. My major is International Airline Business. Before I joined SPU I have previously studied in one of the top schools in Bhutan ,Ugyen Academy Higher Secondary School.
เคซีย์ : ใช่ค่ะ เคซีย์ได้รับทุนจากกษัตริย์แห่งราชอาณาจักรภูฏานค่ะ เคซีย์ได้เลือกเรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมเพราะมันเหมาะกับจุดมุ่งหมายของอาชีพที่จะทำในอนาคต นอกจากนี้ที่มหาลัยในสาขาที่ฉันเลือกเรียนยังมีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกสบายดีมาก เคซีย์เคยได้ยินมาว่าที่มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมนั้นมีหลักสูตรการศึกษาที่ดี แถมยังมีชื่อเสียงที่ดีในด้านกิจกรรมต่างๆ ด้วย นี่เลยเป็นเหตุผลที่ทำให้เราเลือกเรียนที่นี่ค่ะ
Kasey : Yes, I got the scholarship from the King of Bhutan. I have chosen this University because it fits perfectly with my career aims, also facilities here are good for my subjects. I heard that this University has very good academic curriculum and good reputation in the social activities too that's why I have chosen to study here.
เคซีย์ : จริงๆ สิ่งที่ทำให้เคซีย์รู้สึกประทับใจมากที่สุดคงเป็นอาจารย์ค่ะ เพราะอาจารย์ทุกคนนั้นใจดีและมิตรมาก คือพร้อมที่ช่วยเหลือเราตลอด อาจารย์ทุกท่านเองก็มีความรู้ความเชี่ยวชาญในการสอนที่ดีมากแถมมีเทคนิคการสอนที่ทำให้เข้าใจง่ายด้วยนะคะ
Kasey : The most impressive thing about SPU is that the professors are very friendly and supportive. They also have wonderful personalities and they are knowledgeable in their study field. In addition, the professors use effective techniques to help students understand the topics.
เคซีย์ : ตอนนี้เราอยู่ในประเทศไทยได้สองเดือนแล้วนะ เคซีย์รู้สึกชอบประเทศไทยมากๆ ด้วย เพราะคนไทยนั้นมีจิตใจที่ดีและมีน้ำใจคอยช่วยเหลือผู้อื่นและคนต่างชาติอย่างเคซีย์มากๆ ในเรื่องการปรับตัว เคซีย์รู้สึกว่ามีปัญหาอยู่เรื่องหนึ่ง คือด้านอาหารการกินค่ะ เพราะอาหารที่ประเทศไทยนั้นมีรสหวานมากสำหรับเคซีย์ แต่เราก็พยายามลองอาหารหลายๆ อย่างอยู่นะ และเชื่อว่าตัวเองจะต้องปรับตัวได้ในไม่ช้านี้แหละ
Kasey : I have been here for almost two months now and the life in Thailand is awesome. People in Thailand are very kind and helpful to foreigners. The only thing I have had difficulty adjusting to is the food. I have found Thai food to be too sweet but I'm trying my best to adjust by trying a variety of different foods.
เคซีย์ : ในเรื่องของการเรียนนั้น เคซีย์เองก็มีเทคนิคที่อยากจะแชร์ให้เพื่อนๆ เหมือนกัน และรู้สึกมันเป็นเทคนิคที่ได้ผลที่สุดกับตัวเองด้วย นั่นคือหลังจากการเรียนแล้วเคซีย์จะนั่งทำแบบฝึกหัดเพิ่มเติมและท่องจำหนังสือในส่วนที่คิดว่าน่าจะมันสำคัญนะ แต่การเรียนก็อาจทำให้เราเกิดเครียดได้ ดังนั้นการเรียนรู้ที่ดีเคซีย์ เราต้องไม่ปล่อยให้ตัวเองนั้นเครียดจนเกิดเหตุด้วยเลยหาวิธีคลายเครียดให้ตัวเองเพราะหากคนเราทำอะไรจนเกิดความเครียดมากจนเกินไป มันจะไม่เป็นผลดีกับตัวเอง อาจทำให้ประสิทธิภาพในการเรียนรู้ลดลงด้วยค่ะ
Kasey : The most effective study technique that I would like to share with you is to take the practice tests and try to memorize the important keywords, this works well for me. It is also important that you know how to manage your stress as you won’t be able to concentrate and learn as effectively as possible if you are under a lot of stress.
เคซีย์ : ในเรื่องของภาษา และการเรียนที่มหาลัยศรีปทุมนั้น เคซีย์คิดว่าเรื่องภาษาไม่ได้เป็นอุปสรรคในการเรียนเลยคะ เพราะเพื่อนๆ หลายคนพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้ดี ส่วนคนที่พูดไม่เก่งแต่พยายามสื่อสารกับเราก็ใช้ google แปลภาษาเพื่อสื่อสารกัน จริงๆ แล้วเคซีย์คิดว่าตัวเองไม่ได้เก่งภาษาอังกฤษมากเท่าไหร่นะคะ แต่เราก็พยายามช่วยเหลือทุกคนให้ฝึกฝนภาษาให้ดียิ่งขึ้น เคซีย์เองก็แนะนำให้เพื่อนๆ ลองอ่านนิยายภาษาอังกฤษในเวลาว่างดู หรือเรียนรู้คำใหม่ๆ ทุกวัน เพื่อเป็นการฝึกฝนภาษาไปในตัว และฝึกใช้พูดกันจริงๆ เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะของตัวเองไปด้วยค่ะ
Kasey : The language barrier has not been an issue at SPU as most of the students here can speak English. Some students can't speak it well and sometimes it can be difficult to understand. However, in those scenarios we will use google translator to communicate. I'm not fully proficient in English but I do try my best to help my friends if they struggle. I also encourage them to read novels or story books during their free time to learn new words and develop their vocabulary skills.
เคซีย์ : ความฝันในอนาคตของเคซีย์ก็คือการได้เป็นแอร์โฮสเตสค่ะ แต่ถ้าวันหนึ่งมีโอกาสเคซีย์ก็อยากจะเป็นนักบินนะคะ เพราะเรามีความฝันว่าอยากจะท่องเที่ยวไปทั่วโลก และเคซีย์จะพยายามอย่างเต็มที่เพื่อทำฝันของตัวเองให้เป็นจริง
Kasey : My goal is to become a flight attendant but eventually I would like to become a pilot. This is my dream as I would love to travel around the world. I will study hard and make my dreams come true.
เคซีย์ : ถ้าเคซีย์พาเพื่อนๆ ที่ไทยไปที่ภูฏาน เคซีย์ก็อยากจะพาเพื่อนๆ ไปเที่ยวที่วัดนะ เพราะที่ภูฏานมีวัดที่สวยงามและเป็นเอกลักษณ์มากๆ และอยากชวนเพื่อนๆ ไปเดินป่าและแค้มปิ้งที่ Phobjikha Valley ซึ่งเป็นหุบเขาที่มีลักษณะเป็นรูปตัว U ขนาดใหญ่ตั้งชื่อตามชื่อวัด Gangteng ทิวทัศน์ที่นั้นสวยงามมากๆ เคซีย์ เลยอยากพาทุกคนไปด้วยกันค่ะ
Kasey : If I get the chance to take my Thai friends to Bhutan I would like to take them to the temples as we have so many and so beautiful. I would also like to take them hiking or camping in Phobjikha Valley, which is a U shaped valley that has a temple called Gangteng. The scenery there is just beautiful therefore I would love to take my friends there.
เคซีย์ : สิ่งที่เคซีย์อยากแนะนำให้รุ่นน้องจากประเทศอื่นๆ ที่กำลังหาที่เรียนอยู่ อยากแนะนำมหาลัยศรีปทุมเป็นหนึ่งในตัวเลือก เพราะที่นี่มีคณะต่างๆ ให้เลือกเรียนมากมาย ถ้าน้องๆ ไม่รู้ว่าอยากจะเรียนคณะอะไรให้ลองเปิดเว็บไซต์ของมหาลัยอ่านดูก่อนคร่าวๆ ก็ได้นะ แล้วถ้าเจอคณะไหนน่าสนใจให้ลองเข้ามาคุยกับอาจารย์เพื่อปรึกษาดูก่อนก็ได้ค่ะ เพราะทางมหาลัยมีอาจารย์และทีมแนะแนวคอยดูแลอยู่แล้ว น้องๆ อาจได้คำแนะนำดีเพื่อใช้ในการตัดสินใจ และเป็นตัวช่วยที่ดีในการเลือกเรียนคณะต่างๆ อีกทางหนึ่ง หรือหากใครสนใจอยากเห็นสถานที่เรียนของจริง เคซีย์แนะนำให้น้องๆ ลองมาเยื่ยมชมสถานที่ของทางมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมได้เลยค่ะ เพราะว่าที่นี่ไม่ว่าจะบุคลากรหรือเพื่อนๆ นักศึกษานั้นใจดีและเป็นมิตรมาก ภายในมหาลัยเองก็มีกิจกรรมให้เราทำมากมาย และนี่ก็คือเหตุผลที่ทำให้เคซีย์เลือกเรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมค่ะ ขอบคุณค่ะ
Kasey : I would recommend Sripatum University to students who are still unsure of where to undertake their studies as SPU has a wide variety of options. I suggest they visit the SPU official website where they can get academic suggestions from their advisers. I also advise them to visit SPU campus to discover and decide what options are best suited to their needs. The positive impressions that I gained from SPU are the following: an appropriate education plan to assist me in achieving my career goals, the professors are friendly and finally there are so many activities to get involved in.
